Siemens Energy is seeking two experienced Supplier Quality Engineers for our Erlangen location. In this role, you will ensure the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety across our auxiliary systems as part of our global supply chain network. You will work closely with procurement and engineering teams to oversee European suppliers providing Fluid Systems and Mechanical Auxiliary Systems for our gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. Your work directly contributes to the success of our growing power plant business serving customers worldwide.
- Supplier Monitoring: Conduct supplier oversight and product inspections for regular project execution to ensure compliance with specifications. Inspection types include visual, dimensional, welding, coating, pressure, electrical, traceability, and quality records verification.
- Supplier Qualification & Development: Perform routine audits according to supplier risk categorization and audit programs. Support supplier evaluation and commodity strategy definition. Implement supplier quality improvement programs and risk mitigation measures.
- Nonconformance Management: Identify and initiate containment measures for any identified non-conformances. Follow up with corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
- Digitalization & Process Excellence: Utilize Supplier Quality & Development tools and databases to create process transparency and periodically generate supplier quality performance reports. Your ideas on evolving our corporate digitalization landscape are highly welcome.
- Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
- Multi-year professional experience in supplier quality management, quality management, engineering, or a related technical role in the power generation industry or comparable industries
- Knowledge and experience with auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001); Lead Auditor certification preferred
- Familiarity with quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, and RCA
- Hydraulic and lube-oil modules, fuel gas and fuel oil systems, pneumatic systems, oil/air filtering systems, and components (coolers, blowers, pressure vessels, filters, motors/actuators, valves, atmospheric tanks)
- Design of pressure equipment (PED, ASME VIII, B31.1, API 661)
- Welding technologies and standards (AISC 360, AWS D1.1/D1.2/D1.6, ASME IX, ISO 3834, ISO 15614)
- Coating and surface preparation (SSPC, ISO 12944, ISO 8501, ISO 8502)
- Inspection methods (visual inspection, penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing)
- Steel fabrication design (EN 1090-2) and relevant certifications (NDT Level II/III, FROSIO, AWS CWI/SCWI, CSWIP 3.1/3.2, IWE, AWS CWEng)
- Fluent English language skills; German language skills (negotiation level) advantageous
- Willingness to travel approximately 35% for supplier audits and on-site inspections
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment
